Design Drawings
The production of a glass trophy begins with design. The shape, size, and style of the trophy are determined based on the client's needs and the award level. During this process, the rationality and feasibility of the design must be carefully considered to ensure the trophy perfectly reflects the design.
Mold Making
Making a glass trophy requires the creation of a mold. The quality of the mold directly affects the quality of the final product. Mold making typically involves several steps, including creating mold drawings, making a wooden mold, cutting a plastic mold, and firing a ceramic mold.
Glass Melting
After mold making, suitable glass raw materials need to be selected and melted. Appropriate amounts of pigment are added during melting to give the glass trophy a rich color palette. The melting temperature must be carefully controlled; too high or too low a temperature will affect the quality. Different types of glass raw materials require different melting temperatures, which need to be adjusted according to the specific circumstances.
Finishing
After melting, the glass trophy has taken initial shape, but further finishing is required. This typically involves several processing steps, including molding, float glass finishing, edging, edge trimming, and lettering.
Polishing
The surface of the glass trophy must be smooth, flat, and free of scratches, requiring polishing. The polishing process requires careful control of temperature and humidity; otherwise, cracking or other issues may occur.
Packaging
After a series of processing steps, the glass trophy is complete and needs packaging. Typically, foam boxes are used for packaging to protect the glass trophy from damage.
